Careers with FODB Inc.

We offer SAICA training contracts to matriculants, graduates and postgraduate candidates who wish to do their articles while studying part time.

 

We have three training offices that are accredited by SAICA. If your application is successful, you could be placed at one of our branches located in Ceres, Moorreesburg, or Malmesbury.

How?

You will be able to study part-time through UNISA or Boston City Campus to obtain your degree.

Admission Requirements
To get started with your application, you must meet the following admission requirements:

For Matriculants:
NSC no older than 2 years, Mathematics & Accounting (50%+), Bachelor’s study endorsement.

For Graduates:
A SAICA accredited Bdegree in Accounting completed within the last 2 years.

Successful applicants will be offered an articles contract with FODB Inc. which will be registered with SAICA.

FODB Inc. offers you the opportunity to complete your SAICA articles and qualify as an accountant.

 

We have three training offices accredited by SAICA, located in Ceres, Moorreesburg and Malmesbury, would offer the following:

 

• The necessary practical experience in various industries and exposure to a variety of work methods,

• SAICA-prescribed core hours,

• Continuous professional development,

• Interest-free study loans,

• Market-related remuneration,

• 15 days of annual leave per year,

• 10 days of study leave per semester.

 

To complete your SAICA articles, you must meet the admission requirements for a SAICA-accredited degree.

You will be able to study part-time through UNISA or Boston City Campus to obtain your degree.

Bachelor’s study endorsement and 50% in Mathematics as required by tertiary institutions. However, a better average in Mathematics or Accounting will strengthen your application.

Career Opportunities

Accountant – AGA(SA)

As a general accountant, you will be able to compile financial statements and perform reviews for companies with a public interest score of less than 100.  You can also consider various other opportunities in the accounting field.


Requirements: Completion of degree studies & SAICA articles contract.

Chartered Accountant – CA(SA)

As a Chartered Accountant, you will be able to compile financial statements and perform reviews for any type of entity, and you will be able to consider various accounting opportunities internationally.


Requirements: Completion of postgraduate studies; SAICA articles contract and SAICA qualifying examinations.

Registered Auditor

As a registered auditor you’ll be able to work in the audit practice and sign-off audit opinions. 


Requirements: Register as CA(SA); complete 18 month audit program at an audit firm and register with IRBA.

Your Academic Journey with FODB Inc.

High School

• Matric with Bachelor’s study endorsement,
• Mathematics and Accounting as subjects.
• Precedence will be given to those who achieve 80% or more in either of these subjects.

Study part-time through UNISA or Boston City Campus to achieve:

• SAICA Accredited Degree in Accounting,
• Honours Degree / Post Graduate Diploma (CTA).

Articles

1. Enter employment contract with FODB Inc.,
2. Register SAICA learnership.

Terms of contract:
• Matric: 5 years,
• Non-accredited degree: 4 years,
• Accredited degree: 3 years.

Complete and pass two exams to qualify as a Chartered Accountant – CA(SA):

1. IAC:
Initial Assessment of Competence,
2. APC:
Assessment of Professional Competence.
